The chair is literally an invention in seating. The entire surface is a breathable, Swiss mesh that creates a 60% cooler seating surface than conventional chairs. The mesh conforms to the body and provides maximum comfort from fatigue for long seating periods. The seating element is a gel developed in Germany by Bayer Leverkeusen for the comfort of severely injured patients and is used on an office seat for the first time. The seat sits firm just as a fine European automobile has a firm suspension. The aluminum arm curves around the entire seat in a single unbroken line and floats up or down at the touch of a button. The lumbar support element moves into place with a simple hand adjustment. The synchronous tilt system insures that the seat and back always remain in perfect harmony and there is an adjustment for the tension. The seat bottom slides forward if more room is required. The head restraint is adjustable to 8 positions. The seatback support and the arms are cast aluminum and the design is simply breathtaking. Xten comes in 4 colors: red, blue, and silver chairs with aluminum trim and an anthracite chair with graphite trim.
